External Relations

NCAR External Relations Office

NCAR is a crossroads for scientific interaction and collaboration. We work closely with universities, government laboratories, science and assessment programs, and other research institutions to define grand challenges in the atmospheric, solar, and related sciences; and we collaborate with these partners to organize and support communities of leading experts in sustained, long-term projects that address such challenges. We have regular interactions with decision-makers in industry, local, state, and national governments, nongovernmental organizations, and international organizations. We reach out to diverse groups interested in the atmospheric and Earth system sciences, conduct our work in an open and transparent manner, and proactively inform the public about our programs and results.  

The NCAR External Relations Office enables these efforts through:

•  Ongoing dialogue with scientific partners, sponsors, and other interested stakeholders
• Discussions of mutual research interests and negotiation of agreements with potential new partners
•  Support of outreach, fellowship and visitor programs
•  Communication of NCAR science plans and results to the media and the public.
